PAUSD Internships
The Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Solar and Astrophysics Center has been collaborating for four decades with our district to provide a Science Work Experience Program in a research environment. Please visit our PAUSD Work Experience page for details on how to apply to this program.
The purpose of the League is to Make Democracy Work®, therefore, LWVPalo Alto Chapter partnered with the Work Experience program to increase Civic Education & Engagement: Our nascent project to partner the League with PAUSD high schools has completed its first school year with a bang! The Club members "Showcase about Civics Engagement 101" on May 14; the publication of an article about the Club in the Barron Park Spring newsletter; and the completion of a community panel discussion in mid-February regarding bridge-building learnings from the award winning documentary the "Reunited States". We look forward to expanding our club with members from both Paly & Gunn to develop civic related projects for students to earn the State Seal of Civic Engagement*.
*State Seal has not yet been adopted by PAUSD, but information from the state can be found here.
