Callie Gartenman MEd, BCBA, COBA

Biography

Callie has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2014.  Before that, she entered the field as a Behavior Technician in 2010.  Callie has experience working in schools, clinic, and the outreach settings.  She attended Eastern Illinois University and earned her degree in Elementary Education with a focus in Math.  After graduation, Callie moved to Cincinnati to pursue her first teaching job. After one year of teaching, Callie realized her passion was working with those with special needs.  The following year, 2010, Callie began working as a Behavior Technician in Cincinnati. She then decided she wanted to grow professionally and learn more about ABA, so she began her masters degree at University of Cincinnati and began working in the outreach setting.  In 2014, Callie graduated from University of Cincinnati with a masters in Behavior Analysis and became a board certified BCBA later that year.  Since becoming a Behavior Analyst, Callie has become a COBA (Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst), gained experience working with clients in a clinic setting as well as outreach ranging in ages 2-23.  She is a certified Safety Care trainer and has a passion for training students seeking to be Behavior Analysts.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family (husband, son, and daughter) as well as attending concerts, finding new food joints to try, and traveling.

Why ABA?

Callie has worked and seen the results of ABA first hand as an entry level technician and now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst!  She reports that some of her favorite moments as a practitioner are hearing first words and first time saying, "I love you" to parents.  She readily invests time with technicians for training, provides guidance to parents in a way that is practical for them, makes learning as fun as possible, and is looking to constantly be growing as a professional.

A message from Callie...

I am a boy mom, mother to a girl with special needs, dog mom, and wife.  I know first hand how hard finding good services can be and how difficult it can be to know how to advocate for your child. I found myself on many occasions wondering how parents advocate for their children when they do not work in the field of special needs. PATH was started to help families, aide in easing their worries about the future, and educate families on how to advocate for their own children.  I know that the best learning takes place when motivation is present so I strive to make learning fun! Know that I am in your child's corner and will help you navigate through the unknown that Autism can be.   I cannot wait to get to know you and your family on this PATH!!!
