fortitude Fridays
Fortitude Fridays are back! As you are aware, the district sets aside this time as an investment in the social-emotional growth of teachers, students and staff. Students will engage in SEL activities during the school day developed by the school-based BEST teams. Staff will be able to self-identify their needs and select from a variety of offerings once students are dismissed. The first one-session Fortitude Friday event will take place on December 2, 2022.
One Session Day Schedule: Staff will have the agency to select their afternoon activities. The same offerings will be available on all three proposed dates.
School BEST teams may coordinate a schoolwide SEL-focused day with the approval of school leadership. In buildings where schoolwide SEL activities are not planned, teachers will be able to plan social-emotional lessons for their students. Activities are not to take place during ELA or Math blocks unless a direct curricular relation is established.
