Cover Artwork by Steve Johnson
Born in Salvador, Bahia, I grew up surrounded by vibrant culture and scenery. The beauty around me inspired a transcending passion for visual arts and its astonishing craft. Following my older sisters' footsteps, my passion has been expanding as I take this course and learn more about the outlook behind a great art piece. My favorite thing to capture is nature and the earth's natural beauty. However, soon I'll be majoring in Marketing at college and hope to utilize my acquired art skills to design incredible advertisements and visual product publications.

Girl from Ipanema
Highly acclaimed bossa nova and jazz song from Brazil. Throughout the mid-1960s, it was a global success and won a Grammy in 1965 for Song of the Year.
The song was published in 1962, with Antônio Carlos Jobim's and Vinícius de Moraes' Portuguese composition.
Norman Gimbel later composed the English lyrics, which were famously sung by Frank Sinatra.
Ipanema is a popular beachside neighborhood situated in Rio de Janeiro's southern area.
Curatorial Rationale
Through photography, digital design, physical art, this exhibition seeks to encourage others to investigate their imagination and reveal the significance of expression. Ever since my mom got me my first camera in 2016, photography has been an ongoing hobby of mine and something I genuinely enjoy doing. As expected, taking photos of the school was an amazing opportunity for me as I realized how stunning and lively our campus is. It wasn't difficult for me to find spots to shoot as there was plenty of beautiful nature everywhere. Photography is my favorite creative outlet and the work has sparked, even more, my passion.
As for design, I've always been intrigued about it and had an initial interest. I became more immersed and begin creating in quarantine. The fragrance was a great deal of fun to design and experiment with various settings, colors, fonts, and shapes. Ever since, design has become one of my favorite art forms, and I intend to delve further into it in the future. In contrast, I've always had a creative block when it comes to drawing. It has always been something out of my comfort zone which triggered insecurities in me. However, I've been more vulnerable to it, and I can already see an improvement in my work. To conclude, I appreciated the process of making this exhibition as it allowed me to reflect on my previous works and the last two years of the Arts course.
