Our New Black City story is being built. 

Shari Davis and Tracey Corder have brought together people from Black cities to workshop visual representations of our current conditions, imagine a turning point and give the “point of view” of the world that we can build together if given the opportunity to re-imagine public safety, control our own resources and create our own blueprint for change.  

We have completed Phase 1 of this project in February 2023.  That includes visiting 10 Black cities, gathering stories from over 150 creatives and hosting a side panel at San Diego ComicCon.

Phase 2 of the New Black City Project is a published comic book.  We will work with community organizations, black owned bookstores, artists and activists in select Black cities.  Will you join us?
