Early Years
Learning Technologies integration in the classroom for any stage needs to align with the curriculum and also reflect the inquiry based pedagogy that CEDP uses as well as a focus on play based learning for the Early Years.
To assist teachers to utilise technology for learning in the Early Years we have put together the following resources:
LEX has a list of recommended Apps on our Digital Toolbox of Apps - where you can filter by Stages. However it would be worth also filtering by Digital Learning Area to see what is available for your targeted curriculum area. Some Apps may not strictly be Kinder but can be adapted depending on what you are doing
Our go to's are still Book Creator and Google Slides for Kindy as they provide them with such a great opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and show their creativity in a variety of ways (writing, drawing, audio, video). For that reason any Applications that provide opportunities for students to tell/create learning are also at the top of the list.
With iPads, teachers should also explore using the iPad camera with the students - taking photos - creating different photos using filters, cropping etc, taking video for self reflections, etc.
With Chromebooks, explore Google Drawing App built into our Google Suite and Jamboard (an iPad App) too.
