The qualities of effective communication
All healthy relationships have one thing in common—the people in the relationships are all able to communicate effectively.
So what exactly is effective communication and how can we develop this skill?
Effective communication is the capacity to convey our feelings, thoughts and messages in a manner that is clear and firm, yet considerate of others. Effective communication also involves giving others the opportunity to clearly express their feelings, thoughts and messages and encouraging them to express themselves in a considerate manner.
Communicating online can often be difficult as messages can be lost and sometimes misinterpreted. This can cause problems for young people and communicating online requires careful thought. This includes when communicating via text message, email and on social media.
Consider how communicating online is different to other verbal and non verbal forms of communication?
