Blue is a Silkwing with Blue and purple scales he is young so he doesn't yet have his wings but that does not stop him from trying to help. Blue is extremely empathetic, so he has trouble Learning that sometimes the people you've trusted are truly evil and cannot be reasoned with . On top of this, he is Hesitant and very Compassionate. 

Blues turning point in the plot is near the end when he sees the true evil of queen wasp in the flamesilk cavern and decides to fights back and escape even when it would have been easier to just submit like he had before in the temple.

Sowrdtail is a silkwing with blue scales speckled with orange flakes. He is extremely Confident and impulsive, witch sometimes gets him in trouble at school. However he is a good friend to blue and would protect Luna with his life.

Luna is a silkwing with Green and yellow scales. she is a rare flamesilk with silk made of fire. she is fierce and does not hesitate to voice her opinions but has a soft spot for her little brother blue.

Cricket is a hivewing with yellowish gold scales and black spots resembling ink splatters. 4 wasp-like wings on her back like all hivewings. Cricket is extremely curious, which often gets her yelled at by hivewings who don't want her digging to deep, she is also a bookworm and puzzle solver.

Sundew is a leafwing, long beloved to be extinct. her scales are lots of shades of green. 2 leaf-like wings show her leafwings ancestry. she caries many pouches with assorted weapons in them for fighting. she is quite blunt and extremely fierce, however she is soft on the inside. she doesn't let it show because she is very untrusting of others.
