So, you've decided you want to join Science Bowl! Now, you need to practice. Lots of resources are listed below, but these aren't the only resources! You may find other resources on your own too. Other resources can be found on the other official PWMS Science Bowl Website: https://sites.google.com/parkwayschools.net/west-middle-science-bowl/resources
Real-Time Practicing
MULTI/SINGLEPLAYER
This is the best real-time multiplayer practice site because of its diverse set of questions and features. Note that you must disable the non-science questions and adjust the difficulties. This is the Official Parkway West Middle Recommended Multiplayer Real-Time Practice Website.
MULTI/SINGLEPLAYER
This is another real-time practice site, but it is older. This is the 2nd or 3rd best real-time practice site. It allows multiplayer, and some people prefer the UI. Note that you must disable the non-science questions and adjust the difficulties.
IN-PERSON MULTIPLAYER
This is another great real-time practice site that fills a very different niche than the other two! A person must physically read questions, as it's designed to be used when no buzzers are present during in-person practice. This is NOT a site for studying without a question reader or teams!
SINGLEPLAYER
SBCentral's buzzing system has many advantages, such as (slightly) more refined difficulties and an exclusive focus on Science Bowl. This is quite useful, improving it dramatically, but it doesn't allow multiplayer. It is one of the best single-player systems, but due to the lack of multiplayer, it's not the best overall.
SINGLEPLAYER
Science Spoon only has Science Bowl questions, and it allows very refined targeting allowing round and set selection. It even has a search feature! Competition mode was built to replicate the actual competition experience as much as possible, while Rapid-Fire mode is ideal for speedy practice. Additionally, if you build an account, it will track timing and scores!

Online Textbooks/Reading
This is a resource containing many textbooks, some easy to read, and others not. We strongly suggest reading beginner textbooks. It also contains some question sets. This is the Official West Middle Recommended Textbook Website. This website has gotten us to Nationals TWICE!
The original website only hosts packets now, so we have created a backup. The link has now been replaced with a repaired link.
We have not used this resource much, so its quality is unknown. Feel free to check out these books; there are literally hundreds.
OmegaLearn has assorted recommendations for textbooks. It is okay. We have used it even less than Science Books Online.

Question Sets
These are the official Science Bowl sample high school question sets.
These are some question packets that are found on the Mehvix website and are generally of good quality. Try to use all of the DOE sets first before trying these out. Although textbooks are no longer available (use the Drive link above for a Mehvix copy hosted by us), the packets are still regularly updated. If this ever goes down, packets are also in the backup Drive folder in the textbook resource link above.

Question Databases
Originally intended to replace PrepforSTEM, Science Spoon has exceeded it in every way. It has a massive database of every middle school question since 2001. With advanced search features, including search by round, set, and word searching, this is by far the best middle school question database and the Official Parkway West Middle Recommended Question Database Website.
This has a single-player buzzing practice, a searchable database of questions from past regional and invitational tournaments, custom packet generation by category, and foundational study resource recommendations for the High School Science Bowl.
Click here to be challenged with DOE National Science Bowl quiz questions ordered by sets and rounds or in random order on each middle school science topic/category - Earth and Space, Earth Science, Energy, General Science, Life Science, Math, and Physical Science. It has now been restored, but is effectively obsolete, as its question database is smaller, and all of the features are much less developed. The only use case is if Science Spoon is down.
