SOUTH SMARTS
Strategies for managing your time and school work
S-Schedule- On Mondays, look at the week ahead. Mark all events in your planner you already know about (sports practice, work shift, club meeting, family obligations, etc.)
M-Make Time to do your work for each class. Plan to do Red day classes after school on Red days; do Blue day classes after school on Blue days.
A-Actually do it! Sit down, phone down, and do the work assigned for each class. Turn it in on time.
R-Reach out to your teachers and resources. Ask them questions or for clarification. They like to help you! Use Schoology to see your teachers’ calendars and to find your work after an absence.
T-Take a Break- After completing your homework, do something good for you that brings you joy!
S-Stay Focused- Classes must be completed by the end of the semester. Also, keep up with your email by checking it each day.
Homework at Parkway South High may include short-term or long-term assignments that include reading, writing, analysis, and other forms of classroom preparation. You must allocate time outside of class to successfully complete assigned homework and to prepare for classes.
· Parents are encouraged to become involved in all aspects of your education, including homework
· Homework is a part of your grade; therefore, failure to fulfill this responsibility can affect your academic grade
When you are absent you are encouraged to contact each teacher by e-mail and/or check the school website. If this is not a viable option for your family, please contact your counselor for assistance.
If you find yourself struggling with feeling overwhelmed, unable to organize yourself effectively, or unable to get started on assignments, please reach out to your counselor.
