General Setting
The general setting of Wonder is a normal modern world; there are cities, towns, woods, etc. But mostly it takes place in the cities. Society is normal: normal kids and adults, pets like dogs and cats. Not isolated at all.
Location
The book Wonder mostly takes place in two locations. One is School. It is a normal fifth-grade school in New York. Lockers, different classes in different areas, a gym, and a big cafeteria. The next location is Auggie's Home (Auggie's Bedroom). It has a bed, posters of Star Wars everywhere, and sci-fi stuff. Which is comforting to Auggie, and he goes in there pretty often.
