Characters

Gerta: The main character is 12 years old. Lives in Germany and has two older brothers Dominic and Fritz.

Fritz: Gerta's oldest brother that is on the same side as her he is almost 18. He also has to go into the military soon, but doesn’t want to leave the rest of his family.

He is a leader.

Dominic: Gerta's older brother. He is the middle child

trapped on the other side of the wall with papa. He is 14 years old

and misses his family.

Anna: Gerta's friend. She has a brother that died trying to escape.

She is shy, listens, and is not very adventurous.

She is also a spy.
