Parking

Parking Regulations

Only juniors and seniors may be granted the privilege of driving to school and parking on campus.  In order to participate in this privilege, you must be a student in good standing (e.g. no fines in the school store, no excessive tardies or absences), apply for and purchase a parking permit, be assigned a parking space, and follow the regulations governing students parking on campus.  Violation of any of the regulations may result in the loss of your parking permit.  Parking fees are not refundable when a student’s parking permit is revoked.  The parking application process begins during second semester.

As a student, you are allowed to park on school premises as a privilege, not a right.  The Parkway School District retains the authority to conduct routine patrols of student parking areas and inspect student vehicles on school property.  The Parkway School District may inspect the interiors of vehicles whenever a school authority has reasonable suspicion to believe illegal or contraband materials are contained inside the vehicle.

Any student caught leaving campus in their car without proper authorization during school hours may temporarily lose their parking privileges.  On the second offense, the parking permit may be revoked.  If you park on campus illegally, you will be subject to a fine.  Your school store account will be charged $25 for each violation.

Parkway School District assumes no responsibility for the care or protection of any vehicle or its contents while it is parked or operated on school property.

If you arrive at school and someone is parked in your space, park your car in one of the spaces numbered 104 through 111 on the South lot and report the incident in Transportation, Rm 1521 A.  If it is necessary for you to drive a vehicle other than the one listed on your application (and the vehicle belongs to you or your parents), you must register that vehicle in Transportation upon arrival at school.  Failure to report that someone is parked illegally in your space or that you are driving a different vehicle could result in a parking fine charged to you
