Thank you to the staff and pupils from Y5 and Y2 at Brompton School in Northallerton who got involved in this project while learning about how Parkinson's affects one of their staff members. What fantastic poems!
She may shake and seem weak,
But it won't stop her from reaching the peak.
She was diagnosed so young,
But she is always having fun.
Parkinson's will never stop her smile.
Mrs Forster may like to bake,
but her hand may start to shake.
Even though she might be having a bad day,
She still goes to the effort making sure we are okay.
Mrs Forster you are the best!
Being a librarian is fun,
But afterwards I need a rest in the sun.
My hands maybe shaky,
Still I am quite glad,
That my Parkinson's isn't too bad.
It's not all that bad,
so don't get sad.
Mrs Forster our hero,
You try your best so forget the rest,
And we will be here with you!
I can't do the lace but it doesn't affect my face,
My hands may shake but I can still bake,
The longer she waits,
the stronger she gets,
She will care and share.
My hands shake,
But I still like to bake,
Parkinson's won't stop me!
Even though it hit me young,
It won't stop me from having fun!
Mrs Forster may shake, she may fall,
But nothing will take a smile off her face,
She loves to sit in the sun,
Yet she was diagnosed so young.
Parkinson's will never make her different.
Her hands may shake but she can still bake.
She tries not to be sad,
so we are glad.
Her hands may shake but she is winning the race,
You are as strong as a a knight so you can win the fight!
My hands might shake, but I can still bake,
I might not be able to do a lace but I can still race.
It doesn't effect my face but it affects my pace,
Mrs Forster likes to sit in the sun and have lots of fun,
It may take me longer but with help I grow stronger, nothing will stop her smile!
She could be at high speed,
and she will always smile indeed,
Nothing can stop her,
when she is in pain
she will still gain.
Parky does not effect her face, but it may affect her pace. Mrs Forster is my hero!
She loves to sit in the sun, and enjoys having lots of fun.
She may get a lot of pain but we will not let it upset her again. Nothing will take her sunshine!
She may have shaky hands but will definitely stand.
She is the best!
Mrs Forster may sometimes be sad but she'll soon be glad.
She may shake in her step but nothing will take her smile.
Parkinson's is not always bad so please don't call me mad.
She will soon feel young,
Parkinson's won't take her fun!
Parkinson's is getting stronger,
some jobs may take a little longer.
Even though it's tough you can fight through it!
Even though you sometimes feel as low as zero
Mrs Forster you are a hero!
Miss Forster may shake and feel done,
Nothing can stop her laying in the sun.
No-one can stop her ever.
Yet she was diagnosed so young,
Parkinson's can't take her fun.
She may shake and seem fragile,
But nothing puts a stop to Mrs. Forster's smile!
She loves to sit in the sun,
Yet she was diagnosed so young,
Parkinson's can't won't take her fun!
Mrs Forster is our hero!
When Mrs Forster bakes, she might make mistakes,
but she will never stop being fun.
She likes to shop, garden and bake even though she may shake.
Mrs Forster may find things hard but she always tries her best and still manages to smile.
Mrs Forster gives the best hugs and we think she is better than chocolate cake!
When Mrs Forster is feeling weak, we will help her.
So please donate to Parkinsons UK.
