General Information - The Luxembourg Gardens are the second most known gardens in Paris. The central feature of the park is an octagonal fountain-adorned pool. With rows of flowerbeds and statues it really is a beautiful place. Another key feature of the garden is the picturesque 17th century Fontaine de Médicis. It is a fountain basin hidden under trees and nearby is a little cafe with pleasant outdoor seating in a shady forest setting.

There are a number of recreational opportunities including: basketball, tennis and chess. The most popular activity for younger people is steering miniature sailboats around the octagonal pool.

The Arc de Triomphe is one of many famous monuments in Paris, The Arc de Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. You can enjoy walking around the base and under the arches of the Arc de Triomphe for free or pay a fee to climb about 280 stairs to the top for lovely views over Paris.
