VOICE LESSONS with Teacher Asela
Ma. Asela G. Labaro is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Tourism from Central Philippine University in 2007. She also earned units in Music for a Bachelor of Music Major in Voice at the Conservatory of Music in the University of Sto. Tomas, España, Manila. During her elementary years, she consistently championed the Iloilo PRISAA in Vocal Solo Pop and Classical categories. In 1993, she became the National Champion in the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) Solo Voice Category B, held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
As an artist, she has portrayed several lead roles, including CioCio San in Giacomo Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and Juanita Cruz in Magdalena Jalandoni’s works. She is an alumna and soloist of the world-renowned University of Sto. Tomas Singers, a choir that has twice been named Choir of the World. Their international tours have taken them to countries such as Korea, USA, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
Additionally, she was a soloist and alumna of the USA Choir and Troubadours. She is also a member of Mayor Jerry Treñas’ USWAG Artists. Currently, she works as a freelance performing artist, theatre actor, and vocal coach in Iloilo City, Philippines.
