Earning College Credit in High School
PHS offers several opportunities for sophomores, juniors, and seniors to earn college credits while in high school. If you know what college you will attend after high school, it is highly recommended that you follow the directions below to make sure the college credit you receive will be accepted by that college or university!
The Arkansas Division of Higher Education keeps an automatically updated list of courses that universities will accept from other schools on their website. If the college or university you want to attend is not on the list, It is highly recommended that you get a statement in writing (an email will do the trick) from the university's Registrar confirming that the credit will be accepted before you take the class. If this is the case for you, let your Counselor or Career Coach help! We can contact the college or university to get a written guarantee that the credit will be accepted by them when you enroll with them.
