Dr. Piseth Doung is currently the Head of the Materials and Structure Research Unit and a Lecturer-Researcher in Civil Engineering at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC). He earned a PhD Degree in Civil Engineering in 2020 from the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), Japan.
At ITC, his research focuses on innovative construction materials, the mechanical behavior of steel connections, structural performance under wind and seismic loads, and the development of seismic design methods. Dr. Piseth has taught a few civil engineering courses, including Strength of Materials, Steel Structures, and Seismic Design, in the undergraduate program.
As a researcher, Dr. Piseth has published numerous papers in local and international journals and strengthened international collaborations with institutions across Asia and Europe. Beyond academia, he is also a Senior Structural Engineer, contributing to numerous practical projects, consultations, and training programs on structural design and retrofitting.
With over 12 years of industry experience, Dr. Piseth has worked extensively on tall buildings and bridges, combining academic expertise with practical engineering solutions.

Architect Hun Chansan has spent more than 15 years studying abroad in Singapore and the United States. After completing high school in Singapore, he moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Architecture and eventually a Master in Architecture from Northeastern University. He then returned to Cambodia, quickly establishing himself as a young architect and a lecturer at multiple universities in Phnom Penh.
Since the establishment of re : edge architecture in 2011, architect Hun Chansan and his teams of young local architects have dotted Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kampot and other Cambodian provinces with transformational architecture and urban spaces that are representatives of Contemporary Cambodian.
Chansan is a licensed and registered architect at the Board of Architects Cambodia (B.A.C.) and is actively involved with the Architects Association of Khmer (AAC). In 2018, he was named Personality of the Year from the PropertyGuru Cambodian Property Awards. In addition, he has been featured internationally through multiple journals and magazines.
Most recently, he was enlisted in the Singapore Straits Times' 50 Asians to Watch and has also been certified as an ASEAN architect.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakirin Tam has a Bachelor degree in Information Technology from Fatoni University, Pattani, Thailand, Master degree in Information Technology Management from University Technology Malaysia, Johor Bahru Malaysia and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Ankara University, Ankara, Turkey.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakirin Tam is a versatile academic with a rich background in information technology and computer engineering. With a solid foundation in academia, Dr. Sakirin embarked on a career as a Lecturer in the Department of Information Technology at Fatoni University, where he honed his expertise and passion for research. His research interests span a wide spectrum of topics including artificial intelligence, data analytics, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, data mining, green IT, IT management and computer-based testing.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tam's dedication to advancing knowledge in his field is evident through his prolific publication record, with numerous research articles to his name. He has contributed significantly to scholarly discourse and has been recognized as an Editor Member at Mesopotamian Journal of Computer Science. Additionally, he serves as a respected peer reviewer for esteemed international journals including IEEE Access, Springer Nature-Cluster Computing, The Chinese Journal of AI, Journal of Knowledge and Information Systems, and B P International.
In recognition of his academic prowess and leadership qualities, Dr. Tam has held esteemed positions within academia. He has served as a senior academic staff and held the esteemed position of dean at Phnom Penh International University. Currently, he brings his wealth of experience and expertise to his role as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Puthisastra, where he continues to inspire and mentor students while making significant contributions to the field of information technology.
Prof. Dr. SOU Veasna is a distinguished Cambodian academic and researcher with extensive experience in business and strategic management.
Currently, Prof. Dr. SOU Veasna is a professor and senior researcher at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and has also served as the dean of postgraduate schools at Dewey International University and the University of South-East Asia.
Prof. Dr. SOU holds a Ph.D. in Business and Strategic Management (2013) and an International MBA (2027) from National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Royal University of Laws and Economics (1999), Cambodia.
His research spans leadership, tourism, plastic environmental issues, market performance, and socioeconomic issues, reflected in over 20 peer-reviewed articles and multiple international conference presentations. Prof. Dr. SOU’s commitment to education and research has earned him awards and leadership roles, including thesis advising and editing academic publications. He has also co-authored several textbooks and actively supports policy and journal development in Cambodia’s higher education landscape.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tharith Sriv earned degrees in Physics and Engineering from RUPP (Cambodia), KMUTT (Thailand), and Sogang University (Korea). From 2008 to 2014, he trained and led Cambodian national gifted students for international science competitions including IPhO, APhO, SSYS, and IOAA. In 2020, he was appointed by Royal Decree as a member of the Advisory Board of the National Council of Science, Technology & Innovation, a position he continues to hold. At RUPP, Tharith is Vice-Dean of the Graduate School of Science for Research and International Collaborations and leads the Optoelectronics and Advanced Materials Lab, where he currently supervises several PhD, M.Sc., and B.Sc. students, aside from teaching. His research focuses on condensed matter, optical spectroscopy, and microbeam analysis. He is a member of American Physical Society, IEEE and European Microbeam Analysis Society.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tharith Sriv has received several awards and recognitions such as Best Presenter Award (multiple times), Recognitions for exceptional knowledge and skills in the field of science and innovation from UNESCO, for great research achievements in the national prioritized areas from MISTI, as well as several funding including a million-dollar research funding from HEIP Project of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
Prof. Dr. Sok Soth is an accomplished educator with a Ph.D. in Education from Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia (2009-2013, Australian Leadership Awards) and a Master's in English Language Education from De La Salle University, Philippines (2003-2005, United Board Scholarship).
He is a seasoned Applied Linguistics lecturer, researcher, and teacher trainer at RUPP, specializing in TESOL and Education. He is also a strong supporter for reforms in education in Cambodia.
As Dean of RUPP's Faculty of Education, he leads innovative projects in teacher upskilling, curriculum development, and dropout prevention, aligning with Cambodia's 2040 and 2050 education visions.
Prof. Dr. Soth's research explores language, culture, and identity, making him a forward-thinking leader in educational reform.
Dr. Sam Rany is the Vice-Rector of the National University of Battambang (NUBB), a public university in northwest Cambodia, which he joined in 2008. He has been the Cambodian Director of the Confucius Institute at the National University of Battambang since 2019. He is a member of the Southeast Asia Research Academy (SEARA).
He received his Ph.D. in Education from the School of Educational Studies at the University of Science Malaysia (USM) 2016. He graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Law (LL.B & LL.M) at the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE), Cambodia, in 2004 and 2007, respectively.
For his key achievement, he has published 50 academic papers and book chapters; he is also a project coordinator in various projects, including 10 Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education, 1 KOICA, 1 USAID, and 1 World Bank-funded Higher Education Improvement Project 1 (HEIP 1).
