Students will study what living things need to survive and how that relates to where they live. They will read about what plants and animals need, watch videos and view images of living things in their environments, and learn more about the characteristics, traits, and structures they need to help them survive. Students will also study habitats within an ecosystem and learn how plants and animals, including humans, depend on one another.
Students will also examine the importance of ecosystems for both plants and animals. They will investigate food chains/webs and the interdependence all living things rely on in an ecosystem.
The Exhibition to highlight their learning took place at the end of November during the school day, with 80 guests asking students about what they learned and how they developed their projects. The students were exhausted after presenting for an hour and their hard work paid off, with guests amazed by what they produced and even stating that their work seemed to be above grade level for the learning they were able to share!
