"This year I decided to focus on writing. I wrote a research paper on the history of an obscure Russian film, and another one collecting information on bird divination for one of my screenplays. I wrote several short screenplays of varying genres, all of which had experimental aspects to them. I wanted to work with all of the ideas I had been building on throughout my years in film and it was fulfilling to see so many of them come to fruition."
