Enrollment in the AVID Elective class is VOLUNTARY. It must be the student's choice! Nonetheless, parents/guardians and teachers are encouraged to discuss and guide their students during his/her decision-making process.

These are examples of student profiles that are considered for the AVID Elective. Students can meet TWO or all of the criterias listed below:
Motivated to learn, grow, and succeed academically and in life (MUST).
In the academic middle, preferred.
First Generation College Graduate, preferred.
Economically disadvantaged.
Special circumstances: Single Parent Home, Foster Child, Divorced parents, Homelessness, ESOL, ESE...

Disciplinary record from August 2018 to present
Attendance record from current school year

Only new applicants must schedule an interview. Click here to to request it.
Online interviews will be held from April 26-30 during one of your elective courses.
Interviews are approximately 10-15 minutes long.
Faculty members conduct in-person and virtual interviews.
Interviews are only for students, not parents.
Remember to Dress for Success (Professional attire).
