To ensure the academic success of our AVID students, we have forged strong partnerships with their families and members of our community.

1. We organize two AVID Parent Workshops to educate and equip AVID parents/guardians with the knowledge and skills needed to support their child at home.

2. We hold an annual AVID Car Wash Fundraiser in the Fall. We use the funds AVID students and their family raise to provide them with experiences beyond their AVID Elective Classroom Walls: College Field Trips, Guest Speakers, and Celebratory Luncheons.

3. We hold an annual AVID Family Event to strengthen student and parent relationships as well as the home-to-school and school-to-community connections.

Through our partnerships with various community organizations, we are able to:

1. Continue to implement the AVID system and offer the AVID Elective courses.

2. Obtain two-year and four-year scholarships for our AVID students before they leave our school. Thus far, 24 AVID students have received a scholarship.

3. Ensure that scholarship recipients continue to receive mentorship and academic support until they graduate high school.
