Our partner agencies provide student counseling services at our Primary school location. Services take place in child friendly offices. These valuable partner agencies provide student counseling services during the school day which removes concerns for missed school time, travel to agency locations, and family scheduling challenges. These agencies can also provide family support. Communication to parents/guardians can be done in person, virtually, and by phone.
*Parents/guardians can request a referral for services from the school counselor or school psychologist. Families can contact the agency directly for more information. Parent/guardian permission is required for these school based agency partnerships services.

Wayne Behavioral Health (School-Based)
WBHN has a satellite office within our school, staffed with a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Referrals can be made by your school counselor or school psychologist. WBH partners with our school in helping children with a variety of emotional, social and/or behavioral needs. Once a week this licensed counselor meets with students individually at our school setting. This counselor also meets and/or contacts the child's parents and the child's teachers regularly to set goals and share progress. Please contact the school counselor or school psychologist to explore if this service would be appropriate for your child. The Pediatric Symptom Checklist is a brief psychosocial screening survey designed to facilitate the recognition of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral problems so that appropriate interventions can be initiated as early as possible. Not only can this screening identify potential areas to support such as anxiety, attention disorders, depression, and anger, but it also acts as a tool to help connect families with resources. Feel free to complete this screening tool regarding your child and submit to the WBHN Early Recognition Specialist who will evaluate the results, contact you to discuss resources, and help develop a plan to provide support.

PROVIDING FAMILY SUPPORT & ADVOCACY
Families and Communities Together (FACT) 315-946-5624
Wayne County Department of Aging and Youth
FACT provides our school with a family advocate to support families. Referrals can be made by your school counselor or school psychologist. The Wayne County Department of Aging & Youth works with our school in providing outreach counselors to assist our students and their families who may have multiple concerns. The outreach counselor meets with the family, and together they talk and identify strengths and goals; and then decide what services would work for best for the family. The counselor works to link the families to available support services to help reduce any stress and difficulties that the family may be experiencing. Families can be referred to FACT when a child is having difficulty with their behavior at school or at home, and/or the family is experiencing multiple types of stressors. Participation in FACT is voluntary. The FACT advocate can meet with families at our school, public library or at the family's home.
Please contact the school counselor or school psychologist to explore if this service would be appropriate for your child and family.
