Maus I is a graphic novel set during the holocaust. It has been selected as a summer reading option since it has thematic connections with the novel Night by Elie Wiesel which students will read during their English course. Please be aware that this novel is sometimes sold as a complete work which combines Maus I with Maus II. If choosing this selection, students are only required to read Maus I and will only be assessed on Maus I. With that being said, they may enjoy reading the sequel and may have the opportunity to read it as a self-selected read during their course. This is a nice selection for students who are not avid readers due to its graphic format.
