Welcome to High School Summer Reading!
All rising 9th - 12 graders should read a minimum of three books over the summer; this includes one specific title assigned by your fall term English teacher and two free choice books. What are free choice books, you might ask? Free choice means that each student chooses two books to read that they are interested in. Yes, they can be manga books! Yes, graphic novels count! Poetry collections are great! You can use this online guide to help you select your two books, or you can choose them yourself.
In summary, each rising 9th - 12th grader needs to read three books over the summer, one of which will be assigned by your English teacher, and two which are free choice. Students need to fill out a reading response form for each of the two free choice books.
The assigned books for English class can be found here. (Please note: this will be updated throughout the month of May.)
Summer Reading Assignments
For each of your two free-choice books, you will submit a reading response form for your grade:

Paideia's Digital Library
All Paideia students have access to our digital library where they can search through our catalogs for the books we have on campus as well as get access to Sora, our free eBook library, along with our research databases. We've included some book recommendations across all genres on this site, but students can choose their own free-choice books.
