Journey off the beaten path with us and discover hidden art that is tucked away in our downtown nooks, crannies, and alleys. Our expert guides will dive into the history of the city’s Cultural District that is filled with historic theaters and beautiful plazas, and learn about the famous artists, actors, and musicians from our beloved city. You’ll also see the best of Pittsburgh’s public art: captivating sculptures, light installations, and colorful murals. This is a great tour for photo-ops, and is a wonderful way for families with children to see and interact with the city.

What to know: The tour will start on time. Every participant will be asked to read and sign a waiver before the tour begins.
What to bring: Plenty of water for hot days! WHAT TO WEAR? As tours will take place rain or shine, make sure to dress accordingly. Bring rain gear and dress in layers on cold days. Wear comfortable clothing and good walking shoes. Sandals should have a strap around the ankle. Shoes with heels as well as flip-flops are not recommended.
Where to park: Half a block away from our shop is a parking garage at the Grant St Transportation Center: Enter the garage on 12th St between Liberty Ave + Penn Ave. It costs $8 for the length of the tour on weekdays, flat rate of $6 on Saturdays and Sundays all day. On-street parking is free on Sundays, and after 6 p.m. for the evening tours.
Alternate transportation: Becky Gartley will be available to take participants from the Sheraton via the train to the walking tour location. Meet in the lobby at 12:20 pm to depart.
Join conference co-chairs Leah Shuck and Lynda Abraham-Braff for a night of narrative and story telling at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh. In collaboration with museum staff you will have an opportunity to explore the campus as well as work through some hands-on activities in the studio spaces.

Falk School's Legacy Artwork project features permanent works of art throughout the school created by graduating 8th graders using a consensus building process developed by artist and art teacher Cheryl Capezzuti. Post-conference attendees will share breakfast treats and coffee, tour this art-centered laboratory school, see more than a dozen student-made artworks and participate in a community art-making workshop that shares Capezzuti's insightful process.
