Wind

What is wind?

Wind is caused by air moving around the earth. Air moves around the earth because the sun hits different parts of it more or less, causing air to become more heated in some places. Warmer air starts to rise, colder air moves to fill in the gap it left behind, which is wind blowing. If you've ever felt a really windy day, you may notice that it had been very cold in the days before. Places like the equator, an imaginary line drawn around the middle of the earth, get more sunlight and heat than places like the arctic because the rays of the sun hit them at a more direct angle.
