Goals and Communities

For this course we were asked to complete several tasks regarding learning, networking, and communities of practice. My responses to the tasks are as follows:

Task 1: Review the instructional design skills and competencies (below) and identify one skill/competency that you need (or would like) to improve in .

My Target Competency: Use an instructional design and development process appropriate for a given project.

I ranked my proficiency at Developing for this competency, and it is categorized as Essential for an Instructional Designer by ibstpi, so I decided to focus on building up this competency in this course.

Task 2: Review the learning trends for 2017 (below) and pick one learning trend that you would like to learn more about (complete in week 1).

Deeper Learning Approaches

Task 3: Explore several learning and instructional theories (below) and focus on two to research more in depth (complete in week 1).

Task 4: Check out the available instructional design communities listed in the tabs below, and join at least two communities that can help you address the skill/competency you want to improve in, the learning trend you want explore, and/or the learning theories you wish to learn more about (join in week 1, interact for learning in weeks 1-4).
