In a 3-week intensive course, undergraduate Psychology students immersed themselves into the world of developmental science, focusing specifically on social and personality development. Side-by-side with the science were critical discussions of the "mommy wars" and early childhood education, toys, and the power of play. From all this, students came to understand just how "nurture is our nature" and how resilience emerges from healthy family systems. We are eager to share our knowledge with you.
Working in groups, students created clever media soundbites to assure, inform, and entertain. Grounded by parent responses to informal information gathering, the students' work and the "take-aways" for parents that emerge from it has been carefully reviewed by Prf. K. and is sound -- it reflects the latest and greatest principles in Developmental Science. It is important to note however that this work is created by students not licensed clinicians and visitors should use this information responsibly.
