Graduation Checklist

When your committee is ready to approve your dissertation:

❑ Start the approval process

When you are ready to file your dissertation please be sure of the following: 

❑ Review UCLA Graduate Division’s - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR THESIS AND  DISSERTATION PREPARATION AND FILING Handbook   for specific filing guidelines.  

❑ Review Filing Deadlines – Graduate Division Deadlines 

❑ Check your balance on your BruinBill Account 

❑ Declare non-attendance for the following quarter on MyUCLA. 

• • • •  If you do not declare non-attendance, you will be billed for tuition and fees.

❑ Return Building Keys to Facilities Management, Knudsen 1-129 

❑ Check your Department Mailbox one last time for mail, pay stub records, etc. 

❑ Update mailing address in MyUCLA – UCLA Doctoral Hooding Ceremony Invitations will be  mailed to you in May.  

❑ Attend the Physics & Astronomy Department Commencement Ceremony – End of Spring Quarter, department will notify you of specific date via invitation. (Optional) 

❑ Department E-mail Address will be terminated after Degree is Conferred, arrange for  permanent forwarding before department account expires.
