Born in New Albany, Indiana. Received BSME from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1973.

Employed by General Motors as application engineer for Packard Electric Division from 1973-77. Joined Cummins Inc. in 1977 and worked in a variety of field service, sales, and marketing roles, retiring in 2014 as Vice President North American Engine Business.

From 2017-2019, led the Bartholomew County task force aimed at developing a strategy and plan to address the substance abuse crisis in the community, which led to the establishment of the Alliance For Substance Abuse Progress (ASAP) as an ongoing not-for-profit organization.

Also serving as member of the Harrison Lakes Home Owners Association Board of Directors since 2011.
