This project is a mixture of generative art and an interactive game. It’s a game where you upload an image and our bear Anthony draws that image with pixels of big, colored squares, in the way you command it via different ways of image processing terms like scaling, rotation, tracing etc.
The way you interact with the game is through buttons: clicking them switches scenes such as the uploading screen, deciding on the image processing options, the loading screen of the image generation and ending scenes. The bear will talk to you in small basic sentences like “what shall we draw today?”, “it’s almost done” and asks you “do you like it?” upon revealing the drawing. The option you choose affects what the action of the bear.
In addition, we need p5.play for the game functionality, and p5.sound for adding a music. P5.Utils is also needed when arranging the shapes.

The game I am considering is to show the amount of plastic waste that the sea animals encountering in the sea quite often. Plastic pollution in the sea causes many health problems and marine animals unfortunately end up dying by getting entangled or suffocated by plastic objects. To grab attention to this global issue, the sea turtle in the game is going to try to swim up to the surface of the sea from the bottom by answering the questions at the checkpoints. Every time the player gets the right answer, the plastic waste will disappear gradually on the sea surface. The player needs to answer all the questions right to clear all the waste in the sea to allow the turtle to reach the top and breathe peacefully.

In my project I am mocking with the fairy tales. I tried to criticize the stereotypes of “princess waiting for her prince” and “the prince waiting for his princess”. With this project I aim to create a “start the game” screen with a question. There are two answers “yes” or “no”. But the “no” answer will be escaping from the cursor.

For the final project, I am planning to create a toy shop installation with sound reactive vintage dolls inspired by Sean Hathaway’s Teddy Ruxpin installations. The toy shop will be created by vector shapes or imported illustrations, depending on the process and the drafts. The user will wander inside the shop via their mouse, randomly entering different dolls’ coordinates and triggering sounds matched to them. The sounds will not stop and start over each other whenever the agent moves over a doll to create a slowly increasing sound chaos.
