A Milestone for Digital Education: ETIOT’s International Workshops Inspire Hundreds
Between January and February 2026, ETIOT project partners carried out a rich series of dissemination events aimed at strengthening teachers’ digital competencies, sharing project results, and supporting the wider adoption of innovative online and blended learning practices. Across five countries, more than 300 educators, administrators, ICT specialists, and support staff participated in Practical Workshops and Capability Studios designed to bring digital pedagogy closer to everyday teaching.
In Spain, Colegio Séneca hosted two events in January. On 20 January, a Practical Workshop brought together 15 teachers representing multiple educational levels to explore the digital resource ecosystem and work hands‑on with Classkick, creating interactive tasks and practicing real‑time monitoring. A week later, on 27 January, 18 members of the school community—including management and ICT coordinators—joined the Capability Studio. Participants shared interdisciplinary digital lesson examples and examined how generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini can support planning and the development of personalized teaching materials.
Turkey’s Mehmet Sinan Dereli Ortaokulu organized two online events that showcased strong engagement and practical learning. On 12 January, a six‑hour Practical Workshop gathered 21 participants to explore key elements of effective online teaching, focusing on student engagement and the purposeful use of digital tools. Teachers practiced with Wordwall, Tricider, Padlet, and Mentimeter, created example activities, and contributed to a collaborative brainstorming session. On 13 February, the Capability Studio gathered 20 educators who shared classroom experiences, discussed project outputs, and developed further suggestions for applying digital innovation in their teaching.
In Lithuania, the Klaipėda Teachers’ Training and Culture Centre hosted a large Capability Studio on 19 February, attracting 118 participants from across the country. Educators were introduced to the ETIOT project’s survey findings, international examples, and methodology for modernizing the learning process. The event also presented practical demonstrations of how ICT tools can create more engaging, interactive, and motivation‑building learning experiences, encouraging teachers to integrate these methods into their everyday lessons.
Another Lithuanian partner, Vilnius Ozas Gymnasium, held a remote workshop on 29 January focused on the effective use of Moodle for organizing and managing the learning process. Sixty‑two participants explored Moodle’s core functions, including course structure, interactive elements, and adaptive learning pathways. They practiced designing interactive “Lesson” activities, setting up quizzes and assignments, and monitoring student progress. A collaborative Padlet brainstorm allowed participants to identify challenges in distance learning and formulate practical tips and suggestions for improving communication, engagement, and assessment.
In Latvia, Liepājas Raiņa vidusskola organized two major events in early February. On 3 February, a hybrid Practical Workshop involving 19 teachers introduced a range of digital platforms—including Google Workspace, Office 365, Moodle/Skolo.lv, Padlet, and Edpuzzle—and allowed educators to create sample activities and share reflections on a collective Padlet wall. On 5 February, the online Capability Studio gathered 47 participants, including members of school administration, the school principal, the head of the Liepāja Computer Teachers’ Association, and teachers from multiple disciplines. The session presented the aims and progress of ETIOT, highlighted upcoming activities, and invited participants to contribute ideas for improving innovative and online teaching practices.
Across all partner countries, teachers emphasized the practical value of the activities and the direct applicability of the tools explored. Participants highlighted the importance of real‑time feedback, interactive assessment, collaborative digital spaces, and well‑structured online learning pathways as key components of high‑quality digital teaching. The events fostered meaningful peer learning and encouraged collaboration between institutions, demonstrating the benefits of shared European educational innovation.
Evaluation results were consistently very positive. In Turkey, participants awarded exceptionally high scores for relevance, clarity, structure, hands‑on learning, and professional usefulness. In Latvia, 85–100% of participants gave the highest possible ratings across all criteria, and 90% reported improved online teaching competencies. Participants in Klaipėda described the event as motivating and practical, and in Vilnius teachers noted strengthened confidence in creating interactive and adaptive digital lessons. At Colegio Séneca, teachers highlighted improved confidence in real‑time monitoring tools and a clearer vision for sustaining ETIOT’s innovations.
Together, these dissemination events reflect a shared European commitment to improving digital teaching through practical training, collaboration, and sustained professional growth. Although the event series has concluded, its impact will continue as teachers further apply ETIOT tools, methods, and insights in classrooms across Lithuania, Latvia, Spain, and Turkey. The project’s outcomes now live on in every new interactive activity, every digitally‑enhanced lesson, and every educator inspired to innovate.
