Yoga is integrated into Social-Emotional Learning and Mindfulness class. Children are introduced to breaths, yoga poses, and relaxation so they have the tools they need to manage stress and anxiety and other challenges or problems they may be facing. Yoga practice can help with mind-body awareness, self-regulation, and physical fitness. School based yoga programs also place more emphasis on individual abilities and offer a non-competitive environment and also provide an increase in physical fitness to enhance the overall well-being of students. Students will be able to experience yoga on their own personal mat throughout the school year. Each yoga session includes, breaths, poses, games, and relaxation.
