Student Involvement

Live@OWU FEATURING
COIN

On Friday, September 8, Student Engagement and Success hosted the pop rock band, COIN, and OWU student band 35Live on campus! The JAYwalk was transformed into a concert venue to welcome over 525 students and community members for a night of live music. The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive. Students shared: "It was super cool to have an OWU event that was different than others." "It was a good way to hang out with people and do something you won't experience everywhere." "I loved the opportunity to hang out with my friends at a school sponsored event. It was cool to actually have a band playing here. I feel like you see a lot of bigger schools host fun things like this." More concert photos can be viewed here. What a memorable event to kick off the academic year!

Let's Connect.

Welcome Week

Student Engagement and Success hosted nine (9) events during the first week of classes to welcome students and encourage them to connect, get social, and have some fun! Some events included: Welcome Week Drag Show sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs; Fraternity and Sorority Ice Cream Social; Campus Programming Board's Silent Disco; and of course the annual fall tradition and campus favorite, Day on the JAY!

New Leadership Program

Nancy Bihl Rutkowski Leadership Fellowship

The inaugural Nancy Bihl Rutkoswki Leadership Fellowship launched this fall! This 7 student cohort will immerse themselves over the course of the year in a curriculum focused around the social change model of leadership development and CliftonStrengths, and will complete a leadership practicum next semester. The NBR Leadership Fellowship program enables Ohio Wesleyan students to learn leadership theory and then apply their knowledge by practicing leadership in their communities and observing leadership in the workplace. This program prepares students for the complex challenges facing leaders.
