Reading MUST DO:

Draw a picture of what you imagine is inside the Aunt Ruth and Uncle Boris' garage. Don’t forget to include the wallpaper.

You can use Google Draw, Slide or draw by hand.

Remember to:

  • Include labels to describe why you think those items would be in the garage.

Writing MUST DO: Research

Read, watch and learn all about Elephants.

You can choose how you present your information. You could use Genial.ly, Google slide, draw or docs.

Find out the following information:

  • Where are elephants found?

  • What is their habitat like?

  • What do they need for food?

  • Interesting facts about elephants.

  • Create a list of hiding places one could possibly place (hide) an elephant.

CAN DO:

Complete the must do activity before choosing one of the following activities to complete:

  1. Create a book cover for ‘My Parents Didn’t Steal an Elephant’

  2. Write a book report on your favourite book, don’t forget to explain why it is your favourite book to read.

  3. Research how to play basketball. Then create a new game for your friends to play, the only equipment you can use is • 1 x Basketball • 5 x cones • 2 x hula hoops 2 x goals (any kind of goal. E.g., soccer, basketball ) Write instructions to your new game and then share with us so we can try it out.

  4. Write a dairy entry as if you were Bradley and you had just had the run in with Jeff. Explain your feelings as you played basketball with the boys.

  5. 7. Vocabulary: Arrested, sickening, concerned, organisation, complaints, hysterical, nerve, auditorium, dumbfounded.

  6. Write a letter to the Parent Teacher Association about how much impact Carla has had on Bradley.

  6. Why does Bradley cry in Carla’s office?

  7. Imagine you were Bradley Chalkers’ parents. What would you say to the other parents about Carla’s effect on Bradley?

  8. What advice would you give Bradley about parties? Write down at least two pieces of advice.

  9. What are Bradley’s feelings about the book ‘My Parents Didn’t Steal an Elephant’? What comparisons do you think he is making between his own life and that of the character in the book? Explain your answer

  10. Why did Bradley feel the book ‘My Parents Didn’t Steal an Elephant’ was his lucky charm? Explain your answer.
