MUST DO: Labelled Diagram

Draw or create Bradley’s monster.

You can use Google Draw, Slide or Genial.ly.

Remember to:

  • Include labels to describe each of the features that this monster has.

Look at the example below to help you.

MUST DO:

Bradley's Toys go on an adventure.

Write about an adventure that Bradley's toys go on.

Think about:

  • The location - where will they go?

  • The characters - who will be going on the adventure?

  • Action - what happens on their adventure? Do they encounter a problem?

  • Object - will they take anything on their adventure with them?

  • Describing words: adjectives, verbs and adverbs help to make your writing more interesting.

You can use Google Slide, Docs or Book Creator to create your adventure.

CAN DO:

Complete the must do activity before choosing one of the following activities to complete:

  1. Create a list of topics from Bradley’s list and then group them into categories. What do you notice? Why do you think he has these clear categories?

  2. Writing: How would you describe Bradley in this chapter?

  3. Vocabulary: recess, military, hopscotch, barged, grenades, befuddled, mismatch.

  4. Design a new gold star for Bradley

  5. Design a new T-shirt for Carla

  6. Writing: Predict what the story “My Parents Didn’t Steal an Elephant” will be about.

  7. Create a character description of Jeff using a picture of Jeff in the middle, on one side write all the good qualities Jeff had when Bradley first met him and on the other side write who Jeff is now.

Comprehension Questions

  1. How has the other children’s behaviour changed towards Bradley?

  2. What topic do Carla and Bradley discuss?

  3. Why does Bradley want to talk about monsters, do you think?

  4. Why do you think Jeff was mean to the girls?

  6. Imagine you were Carla. What advice would you give Bradley to help him be good in school?

  7. Who helps Bradley with his homework?

  8. Why do you think Bradley destroys his homework?

  9. Name the book that Carla gave to Bradley.
