Create

MUST DO: Write instructions for a new party game!

Create a new birthday party game. You can use ideas from other games that you have played, but it needs to be different in a creative way!

Remember to include:

  • Title (Name of your game)

  • How many players can play your game.

  • What equipment you will need to play.

  • Steps explaining how to play.

  • How to win the game.

  • An example of a move that could happen in your game.

Look at the example to help you.

CAN DO:

Complete the must do activity before choosing one of the following activities to complete:

  1. Create a birthday card. Your birthday card needs to stand out from other normal birthday cards. Be creative.

  2. Vocabulary: Gritted, dungeon, vinyl, vacation, anxiously, stumbled, immature, somersault.

  3. Draw Colleen in her birthday dress.

  4. Write an acrostic poem using PARTY. Share it on your blog.

  5. Design a birthday cake, create a drawing of it and share it with us.

  6. Create a story board showing an event that happened at Colleen's birthday party.

  7. Investigate what a harmonica is, if you can get your hands on one, try and learn to play it.

  8. Draw a picture of the present you would have given Colleen had you been invited to her birthday.

Comprehension Questions

Be prepared to answer these questions. We will be answering these on Friday.

  1. What does Bradley get Colleen for her birthday? Why, do you think, does Bradley choose that present for Colleen?

  2. How do the girls react when Colleen mentioned that boys were coming to the party?

  3. What is your favourite party game to play? Explain your answer.

  4. Why do you think that the boys were late to the party compared to the girls?

  5. Describe Bradley’s mood when Jeff arrives?

  6. Why do you think Bradley is coping Jeff?

  7. How do you think Bradley was feeling when the girls were laughing at him?

  8. Who is Chicken? Why, do you think Chicken is drawn to Bradley?

  9. What does cheering do when a person is completing a race?

  10. How do you think Bradley went at Colleen's party? Explain your answer.
