Daily Activities

Recess/Nutrition

To maintain the health and safety of our staff and students, individual classrooms will remain separate during the school day.

On the way to recess/Nutrition all persons on campus will utilize hand sanitizer. Classroom will be assigned areas on the playground to play. Areas will be rotated daily so students have exposure to a variety of activities. Supervision will be provided by classified staff members.

Example:

Mrs. Alvis 9:30 - 9:45 Area 1 (jump ropes, hula hoops) Mrs. Charnitski 9:30 - 9:45 Area 2 (soccer, tetherball)

Mrs. Haugh 10:00 - 10:15 Area 1 (Basketball) Mrs. Sugimura 10:00 - 10:15 Area 2 (play structure)

Playground equipment will be sanitized daily. Children and staff will remain socially distant to the extent possible and within their own classroom group. At the end of recess students will then line up at at their previously identified bathrooms to wash hands and use the facility. Only one classroom will be at the bathrooms at a time.

Snacks

Snacks will not be sold by Food Services during the day. Students are welcome to bring a snack from home. Students will not be able to share snacks. Students eating a snack from home will sit at socially distanced spots at the breakfast/snack tables. Hand washing or sanitizer will be utilized before leaving the classroom and after eating.

Restroom Break

Immediately after recess, classrooms will line up outside assigned bathrooms to use the facility and wash their hands. Students will enter one at a time. Once the class has finished using the facility their teacher will walk them back to their classroom.
