Lydia's work shows good knowledge and understanding of the key learning concepts. Here, she has been learning about Roman society.

Children love studying the historical battles in particular - here Y4 have been learning all about Marathon, Salamis and Thermopylae.

And here, more learning about how the Greeks fought many battles to establish and protect trade routes, resources and their version of society.

In Y5, children learn two contrasting ruling systems - the "strong" monarchy of the Tudors and the "Theocratic" (deity-led) monarchy of the ancient egyptians. They had many similarities and differences.

In year six, children study the Mayans, which many see as a similar society to that of the Egyptians. They then go on to study WW2, and how the world reacted to Nazi Germany's political and ruling system.
