Action Research

My action research is student-developed scientific model journal effect on middle school students' engagement and achievement. I changed campuses at the end of last year, so I had to do some backtracking. The campus I was moved to was in its third year of IR and teachers have many extra duties that must be taken care of. Quality instruction and classroom management are areas of concern as a campus. The teachers and students enjoy creating models. The students are very engaged and eager to show me their creations. The greatest difficulty has been following through with reflections and peer editing. We have lost many instructional days for additional district mandated testing. The teachers feel crunched for time. I have learned that I need to model for my teachers the same way I would model for my students. The students are very engaged when they are creating and vie for my attention to share what they are doing.
