Losing a loved one is never easy. Letting go of my dad was hard in it of itself since having lost my mom the year before brought a surreal reality that life would never be the same. Hospice was the saving grace to my dad's comfort and journey to heaven as it was to my letting go of control and healing as I honor my parents today.

I never thought my mom would die at 65. I still thought I had more years left to enjoy her and with my five boys. While it hurt to see her go, I am glad she did not experience pain and had a peaceful departure. I have faith she is walking on roads of gold.

Facing a terminal illness of a loved one is difficult to experience, especially when you are young. I was not equipped to experience it alone. I was glad to have hospice services to support the journey of caring for my grandpa til the end.
