Year 13's planning to go to university

Most of the universities and polytechnics realise that you need to plan for next year and have set up various ways for you to contact them and help you make decisions about the how, where and what to do to be ready. Here are the links that they sent. Please make use of them, email them, skype them or attend their webinars.

There are some institutions that have wider support such as the Future You career quiz on Wintec's page. This is quite a fun way to find ideas is you are not sure about what you want to study. It is not just focused on courses that Wintec offers but can be used much wider.

Also, remember, I am also just an email away:  elizabeth.vandenberg@otamatea.school.nz . Any questions or problems you have, let me know.  We can set up a one on one Hangout Meet too.

It is worth signing up to Studylink Eligibility Test and do this eligibility test so that you know what financial support you can get from the government when you go into your course next year.

To start looking for scholarships, it is worth going to MoneyHub on this link. Many of the scholarship applications have not opened yet, but it is worthwhile seeing what is available.

And, lastly, remember to use MyMahi. It is available as an app on your phone or as a website .  Start setting your goals, then it will be easy to transfer them to the Kamar Portal for Academic Mentoring.  Start your CV on the More tab because that will help you when you are applying for scholarships.

The University of Auckland asks that you register your details  on this link with them so that you can receive regular communication. You can also apply already. Remember you don't have to take up the placement in a course in the end, so apply to all the universities you consider a possibility.

The Auckland University of Technology has a form on this link  for students who are thinking of studying there. It is called the Future Student page.
