The Ruler Challenge:Measuring in Euclid's Elements
Euclid's Elements is the most renowned textbook of mathematics ever written. After it's publication in ~300 BCE, it spent over 2000 years as THE textbook for an introduction to geometry.Â
In this session, we will use homemade rulers to explore a proposition from the Elements, called the Euclidean Algorithm.
Sarah Hanusch is a specialist in mathematics education. She is passionate about creating ways for people to experience mathematics. Outside of work, Sarah loves to cook, bake, garden, teach fitness classes and raise her two young sons.
