Dr. Sarah Hanusch is an associate professor of mathematics at SUNY Oswego and the director of the Oswego Math Circle. Her research expertise is in mathematics education, especially assessment practices in undergraduate mathematics education. Dr. Hanusch earned her Ph.D. in mathematics education from Texas State University and her M.S. in mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT Austin, she had the privilege to volunteer with their math circle, then called the Saturday Morning Math Group (SMMG). However, she also attended SMMG when she was a high school student in a neighboring county. That past experience was one inspiration for starting the Oswego Math Circle.
Dr. Hanusch has several other interests, including: teaching group exercise classes, making music, cooking and baking delicious food, and raising her two sons.
