Creative Writing STAR offers young authors the chance to strengthen their work on short stories, poetry, fan fiction, and even longer manuscripts. Members will engage in professional practices such as writing workshops and peer editing, while receiving mentorship and guidance from the teacher. The STAR’s goal is to help students refine their craft as a passion, hobby, or to develop knowledge and skills for a potential career in the publishing industry.

We will use our time during our STAR to organize our academic materials and maintain that organization throughout the school year. The STAR advisor will work with each student to develop effective and efficient organizational strategies that work best according to their styles and needs. We will meet on Wednesdays because this is halfway through the week, which is a great time to reorganize and get some guidance from a teacher as the academic week progresses.
Let's Tumble is a STAR for children that would like to learn how to do gymnastics tumbling skills and for those who may have some background in tumbling as well. It will be led off with basics skills like jumps, turns and rolls. It will then progress to more challenging skills like Cartwheels, Handstands, Back bends and much more. This STAR is open to beginners as well as advanced tumblers. For the more experienced gymnast, it's a great way to keep up on your skills as well as combining, refining and elevating your skill level.
This group will be learning guitar, strings, and voice through the Mariachi medium. You’ll get to play traditional songs, learn new skills, and make music with friends
Are you a fan of superheroes? Do you think superheroes are awesome?? Join the Marvel Cinematic Universe STAR and take a journey with us where we watch all your favorite Marvel movies and talk about all your favorite characters! Even if you are new to Marvel and/or superheroes, there is a spot for you!
A supportive Math STAR designed especially for English Language Learners! This STAR provides a safe space to strengthen math skills, build confidence, and improve English through fun, hands-on activities and guided practice. We focus on understanding math vocabulary, solving word problems, and helping students connect math concepts to real-life situations.
We will be exploring the local flora and fauna around the school building. We will develop a nature trail for the school in the woods with signage, information, hands on and thinking activities set along the trail. Identify local flora and fauna.

Students bring a book of their choice, read quietly with peers (all whom are reading different things). At the end everyone tells a short "what is going on", or "what I hope happens next" about their book. The goal is to just enjoy being together and reading what they enjoy at their own pace.
Train your skills and decision-making while competing in a fun, game-based environment. Sessions will follow recommendations of US Soccer Grassroots program.
To teach students how to prepare healthy meals using plant-based ingredients. Hopefully, showing students to prepare healthy meals may encourage them to make better food choices in regards to their health. ***If you sign up for this STAR you must attend both Tuesdays and Wednesdays*** (8th grade only)
Dungeons, Dragons & Beyond is a STAR where middle schoolers come together to explore the worlds of tabletop games. From epic adventures in Dungeons & Dragons to other role-playing games and classic board games, there’s something for everyone at the table. Students can create characters, build stories, and challenge their strategy skills while having fun with friends. The STAR is open to all students, whether you’re a seasoned player or brand new to gaming.
An after-school STAR where students can come together in a safe, supportive space to talk about what’s on their minds. Sometimes we’ll use the Topic Jar to spark group conversations, and other times students can use the Tea Drop Box to share privately. Our goal is to create a space for listening, sharing, and supporting one another while building community
