The Fashion Lab is a creative space where students can explore fashion, design, styling, art, culture, and self-expression. Students will design looks, create mood boards, explore fashion history and trends, experiment with styling and wearable art, and even develop their own fashion brands. No fashion experience is required. Just bring your creativity and ideas! 

Drone STAR takes ordinary students, and turns them into Drone Cadets. In this program students will first learn about types of drones, the parts of a drone, the laws of flying drones, and how to control our Tello drones. Next, students will take to the skies and work together to navigate their drones responsibly, through a weekly series of challenges/courses/obstacles. The sky is the limit in Drone STAR! 

This is an enrichment for those wanting to practice their ASL chatting skills, and become a better signer! Recommended for students already in ASL, but newcomers are welcome too! 

An after-school program where students can come together in a safe, supportive space to talk about what’s on their minds. Sometimes we’ll use the Topic Jar to spark group conversations. Our goal is to create a space for listening, sharing, and supporting one another while building community 

Backpack STAR is an after-school support program designed to help middle school students navigate the academic, organizational, social, and personal challenges that come with being a middle school student.

Middle school can be overwhelming. Students are balancing homework, tests, projects, lockers, changing classrooms, multiple teachers, grades, friendships, family responsibilities, and increasing expectations for independence. Some students may also be managing additional challenges, such as living between two homes, changes in family circumstances, stress, pressure, anxiety, or difficulty keeping track of their belongings and responsibilities.

The Backpack STAR provides students with a safe, supportive, and structured place to pause, organize, problem-solve, and prepare for the next day.

Diamond Art is a craft where you place tiny, colorful “diamonds” onto a sticky canvas to create a sparkling mosaic picture. It’s like a mix between paint-by-number and a sticker mosaic. You match symbols on the canvas to the color key and press the matching diamonds into place. When finished, the picture looks glittery and textured! Every week will have a different theme!

Jazz Band is open to any student who has played their instrument for at least one year and has played in Jazz Band or Jazz Club previously. In jazz Band we play music from Jazz, Rock, Funk, Latin and Popular Music in a traditional big-band style. 

Pumpkin Pals is an animal-centered enrichment built around our classroom Silkie chicken, Pumpkin! Students will learn about animal care and behavior while helping provide Pumpkin with a safe, enriching environment. Through hands-on activities, students will develop responsibility, empathy, teamwork, and leadership skills as they participate in Pumpkin’s care and enrichment. Most importantly, Pumpkin Pals will provide a welcoming space for students to connect with one another, relax, and build a sense of belonging—with Pumpkin at the center of it all!

This STAR will emphasize the engineering design using lego blocks. It develops team building and leadership skills.
