MA (Sociology) Examinations for Distance Mode Students

Examination Pattern:

The examinations for the M.A. (Sociology) program offered through Distance Mode will be conducted at the end of each semester as follows: 

1. Internal Assignments:

• Components:

  • Short answer questions: 5 questions (compulsory questions carries 2 marks each)

  • Essay type Questions:  2 questions  (with internal choice carries 10 marks each)

• Frequency:  Students must submitted internal assignment notes at the end of each semester at PGRRCDE, OU.

• Total Marks for Internal Assessments: 30 marks per paper/course 

2. End Examination:

• Components:

  • Short answer questions: 4 questions

  • Long answer questions: 4 questions

• Frequency: The end examination will be held at the end of each semester.

• Marks: The end examination will carry a total of 70 marks.

3. Weightage:

• Internal Assessments contribute 30% to the final grade.

• End Examination contributes 70% to the final grade.

This structure ensures a balanced evaluation system, combining continuous assessment through internal tests and comprehensive assessment through end exams.
