Dual enrollment is an arrangement that allows high school students to take college classes at their high schools. Students get credit for both a high school course and the college course which is why it’s called dual enrollment.
As a high school student, you can take college courses with your high school peers, explore different areas of study, start building your college transcript, and save money (tuition is FREE for dual enrollment students).
Please note: There are specific course offerings under Dual Enrollment. If you are interested in taking other courses outside of Dual Enrollment offerings you can look into Concurrent Enrollment.
Dual Enrollment has NO FEES for OHS students (students receive free books and tuition). Concurrent enrollment on the other hand requires students to pay for a small student fee, books and materials.
Dual Enrollment Courses are limited but exclusive to OUSD/OHS students. Concurrent Enrollment allows high school students to enroll in ANY course on the MiraCosta Schedule. Feel free to browse through the MiraCosta website to find out more about concurrent enrollment.
Step 1: Apply for MiraCosta Admission (If you do not have a MiraCosta College ID or Surf ID)
Step 2: Submit a Early College Credit Form (If you have never taken a Dual Enrollment class). You can request a digital form, download a PDF or get a paper copy from Ms. Foreman in the College and Career Center (V126).
Step 3: Fill out the 2025/26 OHS/MCC Dual Enrollment Interest Form and Course Selection form.
