Suggested Homework

Suggested Kindergarten Homework

Homework is a time for you to focus on your child’s individual needs. Please look below for activities to work on throughout the month to help your child meet their personal academic goals. We also believe in the importance of teaching to the whole child. We encourage you to go for walks, take your child to the park, the library, and hold meaningful conversations to help him/her continue to grow socially as well.

Suggested Activities:

· Practice our kindergarten word lists daily. Students should know at least 15 words by November, 30 by March, and 60 by June.

· Look through your child’s most recent Math Journal sent home. Review areas of concern and complete unfinished pages for reinforcement of the concepts being taught.

· Read with your child. When reading with your child ask about the story and have meaningful conversations about the book (who, what, when, where, why, how).

· Have your child read to you. If your child is not reading fluently yet he/she can always tell the story through pictures.

· Work on activities your child’s teacher has personally discussed with you so that he/she can continue to grow toward their personal goals.

· Write! Write! Write! Have your child write as often as possible. It can be a list, stories, letters, how to books, etc.
